Commissioned Art
It is a wonderful opportunity for collectors to have a personalized, original piece of art in their home, office or other space. Unlike buying a pre-existing painting.
Commissioning art is the process by which an artist creates a work of art on a client’s invitation. As an artist, I have seen clients move towards commissioning because the exhibition work they were interested in was sold before they could get to it and they wanted to commission something similar.
If there is a painting from Rishu’s collection, that you love, but it has now sold and is no longer available, or if there are multiple paintings that you love and would like to commission a similar image with a few adaptations, then a commission art work is for you.
Process & Timescale
The client outlines their general concept and preferences with the artist. In person or over video chat, the artist will also visit the client’s space to see where the painting will hang. The client, artist and designer work together as a team to outline the scope of work (style, colours, measurements, textures) and any other variables that are important to consider while developing a custom work.
Based on the client’s brief, the artist prepares an intermediate sketch of the painting and shares this with the client for approval either in person or over Skype. Once the intermediate sketch is approved, the artist can begin the final painting. Commissioned paintings typically take about 8 to 12 weeks to complete, depending on the artist’s schedule and prior commitments.
Location dependent, Rishu will show sample pieces of art work and framing options. Throughout the process, photo and video updates are shared and client feedback is incorporated into the work. Although time frames can vary depending on workload, the Art work can be shipped worldwide (DHL) and is securely packed, guaranteeing it is delivered safely to your door with peace of mind.
Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be taken to secure your art work. After the commission is complete, the remaining 50% is requested upon dispatch. If you are interested, please get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
